National Trust

We provided online streaming and a live chat system at the National Trust AGM, enabling the Trust to better engage with their members.

The Challenge

The National Trust held their 2017 annual general meeting in Swindon's STEAM museum. The event was open to all members, providing the platform to discuss current issues and for Trust representatives to hear directly from members. With over 5 million subscribers, the Trust needed to ensure those who could not attend in person had a way of joining the conversation and engaging in the same way as those in the live audience.

Online Live Stream

Silverstream TV delivered a live multi-camera production for the all-day event, which included an introduction, formal address, member voting and mutiple other segments over 6 hours. The production was live vision mixed by our team and streamed directly to the National Trust website.

Live Chat Q&A

For those watching at home, we delivered a bespoke two-way chat platform, embedded with the stream. This enabled members at home to post live questions to the Trust, who could then read and answer the questions in real time, directly underneath the comment. Post-event, the different segments from the day are available for on-demand viewing, along with the record of the Q&A.

TV Screens

At the venue, we provided 85 inch LCD displays either side of the stage with a live feed from our cameras. Additionally we provided an overflow room with a screen, for members of the press to be able to follow the event.
